Description
With so much natural life present in July as I have mentioned, it is sometimes worthwhile going completely against the grain to snare a fish that no one else has come close to catching.
As far as Blob’s go the Viva Blob is a slightly more low-key variant of the well known, traditionally uber vibrant Blob family. The darker, almost seductive colours of this fly offer something different to the norm, tempting inquisitive fish that have recently gorged on a natural food source.
Variety is the spice of life and even Trout succumb to this theory!
Best fished: Slightly deeper in the lake than any of the other flies in this month’s selection, aim for around 2-4’ down. In what is traditionally a ‘slow retrieve month’ mix it up further by adding plenty of short sharp twitchy pulls to your retrieve, and it won’t be long before you’re feeling the pluck, pluck of a tasting Trout!
