The Coch-y-Bonddu beetle is effective throughout the season especially for wild brown trout.  It is at its best fished slowly on a floating line.  Although the Coch-y-Bonddu works best during a fall of beetles in June, it will also take beneath the surface and is used as an imitation of a number of beetles.
